STUDENTS WILL EXPERIENCE
THE 21st CENTURY AT THE SCHOOL
STEAM education lends itself to the Constructivist theory of knowledge. Although there is a large volume of research regarding this, in a nutshell it suggests that knowledge is not simply a set of external facts that can be mapped onto an individual but rather that the individual constructs knowledge for themselves based on prior experience.
This enables the view that our knowledge and understanding is constantly being challenged and refined as new experiences are added which throw new light or redefine our current understanding.
